Just a short little page to update family and friends on Devin's progress while undergoing treatment for a relapse of leukemia and his second bone marrow transplant. Devin is currently in remission and we plan to keep him there FOREVER!
Devin had his regular appointment today. We saw Cassie, the oncologist nurse, rather than Dr. Frangoul. Devin is still doing very well, he has gained an itty bit of weight, nothing significant but any gain is good.
We also are able to drop his magnesium pills! Yay! We did add Zyrtec today since he has been snuffling. We have tried Sudafed, Simple Stuffy and various OTC remedies with no luck. He doesn't have any other symptoms beyond the stuff sinuses so we are hoping the Zyrtec will take care of it.
What a difference in his pill intake daily from not that long ago. He now takes 2 acyclovir in the morning and evening, a Zyrtec in the evening (since it makes him drowsy) and 1/2 a Bactrim twice a day on Monday and Tuesday.
It is Spring Break this week so all the kids are home and visiting with their sister, Kristen, who flew out from Idaho for the week.
April will be a busy month for Devin since he has an opthomologist apppointment, he will be having a developmental assesement and his regular clinic appointment. I hate him missing that much school but it can't be helped.
His next appointment is not until the end of April but everything else takes place between now and then. posted by Devin's Mom

Bits and Pieces
I had added a few pictures in Devin's photo album, link over on the left. I included some photos of all the kids opening the train set that Friends of Vanderbilt got them for Christmas. They love that train, it is very cool.
Last friday we went down to Vanderbilt to take part in 107.5 FM's Rivers of Hope radioathon. All of us went down and took part. There was a nice little area up on the stage to sit on a leather couch while being interviewed. The kids acted liked kids, that is to say they said silly things and were goofy. They did enjoy themselves.
Mr. Carrol and his wife were there so Devin raced over to say hello. We also talked to Ashley, one of the other children featured in some of the videos Devin has been in.
I need to still download a few pictures that we took during the time we spent there.

Here today, gone tomorrow!
Last night, I was a bit concerned since Devin had a rash on his arms. It was limited to just his arms, from the elbow to wrist, and was concentrated near his elbows. It came up very quickly. I had plans to call down to Nashville to get it looked at and made a list of anything unusual that he may have come in contact with.
This morning, I had Devin take his shirt off so I could see how the rash was, if it had gotten worse or even spread. It was totally gone! There was no trace of anything on his arms anywhere. It must have been some kind of contact rash. Since he had no other symptoms associated with this, I decided to leave things alone.
We are scheduled to do a live radio broadcast during Friday evening traffic on March 11. We are going to be broadcasting at 6 pm.
There are two new pictures in Devin's photo album. He spent the night with Donna over the weekend. Donna has a rottweiler puppy named Zeus, who is buddies with Devin. posted by Devin's Mom
